Great tour. Rosemary was an excellent tour guide. If you love the city and its history, this is a really fun visit!

This place is a lot of fun, and one of the most unique Houston sights. I've gone twice, during art installations, which I think is the best way to experience it. The reservation is done online and the tickets are timed--highly recommend you get there early. A stroll through the park afterwards is a lovely way to spend a weekend.

Very cool day date experience! My bf and I took the guided tour for $10, and it was definitely worth the history and background info on the cistern.

A must see when you visit Buffalo Bayou. It's cool and it's cool! Learn about the history.

Yes but not everywhere only at the special location. Otherwise nature is available but not recommended 😅
You must reserve a ticket online and go through a tour. Thursdays are free and reservations can be made here: https://buffalobayou.org/visit/destination/the-cistern/
Perhaps because of bicycle 🚴 rent service there maybe 🤔
Wow
Hi Mara! The tour is completely indoors so we do not cancel when there is rain unless there is major flooding. We look forward to having you this week!
Anywhere in Houston is hot and humid unless inside with AC 😅
There is parking at the cistern. Also along Sabine street or along Allen Parkway.
Nothing at the moment. The next one is scheduled for 2020 but they have not decided what it will be yet.
Not really. There is a walk way all the way around on the inside. You can and take pictures from a distance but can't get close to the columns
Yes videos are allowed and even encouraged as the acoustics are quite unique.
There is a free parking lot at 105 Sabine Street.
Carlos tour is an art exhibition and history tour there is a guide that explain the history of the place!
It's called the kitchen at dunlavy. It's a brunch restaurant. You have to go down Allen parkway then cut into the bayou on a path around Waugh st.
Children under the age of 9 are not allowed inside of the Cistern.
No but you should.
Yes
Yes there is parking on site but it is usually full on the weekend. If you go down Sabine towards Memorial there is a community center there that I will sometimes park at.
The Thursday is free and selfguided and group Tours is only with reservation on the web.
No place to leave dog close by. It's a short tour, so you could possibly take turns. The Cistern will be closed for tours Thursday, June 28 – Thursday, July 5th due to Freedom Over Texas.
$5. Make reservations on website.
