You need $100 for incidentals each night of your stay they will hold/approve for use on your first day of stay. So it your staying 3 days. The will place a hold on $300 at check in. They will release that part on checkout. It may take up to 72 hours to go back on your card. I suggest you use one card for you staying you'll be fine. I'm sure you can use multiple cards if you choose.
Enough for room and room deposit hold 100 to 1000.00 deposit for the type of room you have. Yes you can use more then one credit card
You'll need at least $100 a night that you're staying plus any incidentals that may arise. It's best just to make sure you have enough credit on one card in case they don't allow you to spread it over two.
Use as many cards as you want!
We had a pre authorization of $400 for our 4 night stay at The Mirage. I would say it's safe to bet appx $100/night pre auth will be placed on your credit card

Best to always check your reservation and see if deposits are required or paid already
