Hi Don! If you are wanting to adopt, there are no jurisdictional boundaries for that! You can adopt from anywhere. If you are wanting to surrender an animal or bring in a stray, we do have jurisdictional boundaries to use the shelter without a fee. If you are within Manhattan city limits there will be no fee to bring an animal to us since we are tax funded, but if you are outside of Manhattan city limits there is a fee to utilize the shelter. We do have contracts with some areas, so give your city hall or local police/sheriff department to see if that is an option if you are needing to bring an animal in. I do not believe that they check residency. All they required was two forms of ID.
