Dogs are honest and trustworthy animals, mixing them with cops is an oxymoron, as most cops are corrupt hateful bigots... An example is when a drug dog doesn't smell or que on anything, but cops decide to rip apart ones vehicle or property with no apologies or remorse. This happens all the time, as does killing an innocent animal over fear of getting a bite from a dog doing it's job. Welcome to the police state of America!
Also, as a citizen, I do not condone such behavior. A few years back there was a video of an officer seemingly mistreating his k- 9 partner...hope you get some hard hitting answers.
