Cancelled my autobill without informing me. then once a payment was missed required me to pay $414 to some outside company called paymentus to avoid a disconnect that was pending due to them screwing up, and now their system wont accept the payment i just made to paymentus to bring the account current. what an absolute scam.

I am typically a huge critic. I have been pleasantly surprised by all of my interactions with NIPSCO this year. Call center folks are friendly/helpful (mid 2020s); service guys are have been friendly and helpful; engineers have been friendly and helpful. My only compliant is it was super expensive to relocate overhead wires to buried wires. I’m talking thousands is dollars. We ended up not burying the lines due to cost, even though we were doing major construction. But the way over exceeded my expectations from a service standpoint. Kudos to the local union too—everyone was friendly and helpful.

Update. What a garbage company! The weather is nice out and no power! I have never seen anything like this company! You guys are a joke! Feels like I live in a third world country
