High clearance should be ok. As long as there has been no recent thunderstorms in the area.
A year ago you didnt need a high clearance vehicle. You can't drive directly up to them. You have to walk in about .5 miles.

High clearance is probably ok, but depends on your skill level. Having an extra person along to push if need be doesn't hurt.
