Stephanie, we currently have a new cafe under construction, but it is on the outside perimeter of zoo grounds and shouldn't impact our guests greatly.
They have a construction area, but it is sectioned off
None of the exhibits are vastly under construction, so you should be able to see everything you want depending on the weather (temp/rain/etc)

They often make improvements to the zoo. Recently they just finished an area for the Gibbons. It's now a nice area for both animals and visitors. Before that they did the Asian Trek which is now a very nice area for the tigers and cranes and includes an indoor area to escape from the heat in the summer.
They are always updating sections and they just finished an awesome Asian Trek but any remodeling was not noticeable or in the way. The splash pad and changing area was very convenient as well. We had a great trip!
