It's nice but I recommend going between april and September the animals are more active and the animals like giraffes, elephants and tigers like the heat better not to mention the vegetation looks much better.

They have the animals out whenever they can, these nice spring days make for an enjoyable day at the zoo

If you want the zoo to yourself pretty much when it’s watmer during February or March it’s almost empty. Not all the animals are out, but They still have areas where you can see the chimps and elephants and gorillas.

It doesn't really change what you can do depending ln the season that i know of, but they were doing some add-ons that are supposed to be finished at some point in March I believe, so you could go now or wait for early April to see if renovations are complete.
