Hi folks, Someone told me the jail yours are only for 12 years old and up. Is that just because anyone younger might not understand it, or just that they don't want kids that young. Thanx.

I just had my 1st grader there 3 days ago as part of a school sponsered field trip. He loved it.

Our tour guide was an elementary school kid who was volunteering and she brought an "assistant" who was about 6 years old. Obviously these kids are well trained and well aware of the history.

Some areas of the jail might be considered a little scary for younger children, such as the solitary confinement area and the gallows. Hope this helps.
