My mom's ID expires in September but I cannot get an appointment until October. Will they extend her ID or make me run around and bring all of that proof again?

I had an appointment to get a new Virginia license after moving here from another state. From the time I walked through the front door to the time I walked out was 13 minutes.

IDs have been extended, I believe for another 180 days. Check the website (www.dmv.virginia.gov) for specifics. You still need the appointment, so do that. But keep checking; you might grab a cancellation. Morning appts seem better. Be prepared to wait outside. Also, check the site to see if she is eligible to renew her ID online.

You have up to 12 months to renew before you will have to bring in proof. If you consistently go online to schedule appointment you may get one earlier than October because people cancel their appointments daily

Thank you. She has a renewal but it says she has to come in. Thank you Marie and Kelly. I made the appointment. I will check back. Once again. Thanks
