I was impressed with how quickly and efficiently I was to get a new title, registration, and plates at East Henrico DMV. I arrived on time for my appointment and was in and out in only 10 minutes. Maybe they reduced some regulation because they barely needed any information from me compared to how I remember it in the past... Much better experience than the DMVs in some other states.

Excellent service. Made online appt. I arrived early Only few cars in parking lot so I was very hopeful. Only 5 people waiting service. I and out under 30 minutes.
Randolph Mayes
Such slow & uncaring service. Not one employee has ever showed any sense of urgency or tried to pick up the pace bc it was extremely busy‼️🤷🏽♂️ SMH 😒🙄
Denise Andrews
Best experience at a DMV ever. Courteous and attention to detail everything done of a long list that I needed to accomplish.

Lost new registration tags for car.. Need to send a replaced. How do I get or request new tags for car
Go online to set appt up
By appointment only.
I think they do early in the morning. My advice is to get there as early as possible (preferably before 12) because they fill up VERY quickly and they do not answer the phone no matter how much you call. 🙄🙄🙄 Also, check and make sure that you have all the necessary documentation (forms of residence, IDs, etc.) needed for the test because they are very particular about what forms you need.
Would a birth certificate work
If you go into an office the fee is $9, or if you purchase one online it is $8.
Study for test because you want to pass. ID also required.
No you can just walk in, if you've never had a ID you need ypur birth certificate or passport, social security card, and two pieces of VA mail, ex. Lease, phone bill, cable bill. All have to 60 days or less current.
Not a 100% sure, I do believe if u just keep it current and do all the required things to keep it current you should be fine
You can use your old tags, you just need to go to DMV and transfer to new car
Yes, but only on Mondays and Fridays. This week due to the Christmas holiday we are closed Thursday - Saturday.
Not yet ...starting October 5
On the road
You've gotta make an appointment "Currently" as far as I'm aware
Drop them off.
Turn them in an get new one
Take it to ur dmv by you. They can fax it off
Appointments are only for in person visits. You can still conduct business online.
Go online to the DMV website and make an appointment. That's the easy part, months of waiting for the appointment is frustrating deal
Yes.. By appointment only.
Appointment everything from my understanding
No open walk-in but it pretty easy to make an appointment. If you can't make appointment you can call and see if they will fit you in.
No only by appointment. But it's not hard to get the appointment.
Yes, all transactions need appts at this time
No by appointment only
Not sure, check the website. You may be able to upload your stuff instead of dropping off.
You may need to call an follow up with them about the matter. I am aware of the pandemic issues, but personally I would have went inside for something like that or sent it certified mail.
No
Yes
Go on line that's the best thing to do? Dmv has a lot of things you can do.
Yes
I went on dmv.gov and renewed mine. I got my new ID in 4days
Call the main office in Richmond to get a for sure answer. However if it's me I would just make a license appt then once you get there explain it's only for state id. Hope this is helpful.
What dmv open with out appointments
I had an appointment to get a new Virginia license after moving here from another state. From the time I walked through the front door to the time I walked out was 13 minutes.
How do I get a handicap sign?
Absolutely yes
No
Yes
You can change address online
Official birth certificate, social security card, 2 proofs of residency. Check website for what residency proof is acceptable. www.dmvnow.com
Yes
You need to go to their website www.vadmv.org
12 pm
If I longer have 4car anymore can y'all take them off because I can't dive anymore by the court please so I don't have to pay tax
Don't let it expire or you will have to take written test again! You can set an appointment for road test which I would recommend if you have time constraints. Have you looked into going to Williamsburg DMV or one close to work?
I meant what state you were born in. The cost varies
Avoid beginning and middle of the month. Wednesday is usually a good day but I'd get there early.
No cost to do road test. If you have a learners, you paid for it when you got learners. If you don't have license, you would have to pay for 8 yr license..$32
I need to make an appointment
You hold your leaners for 60 days then do behind the wheel
Thanks Fawn Ricciutti!! 🙋😝
It can't.. you have to get doctor to fill out another form and pay $5
You can pay the fee if you have their drl # or SSN. They may need to come in for photo if they don't still have the hard copy of drl. Make sure to check online their compliance summary to make sure nothing else is needed
If it is a permanent placard, you can renew by mail (if you didn't receive renewal in mail, go on dmvnow.com and print application) send with $5 check or you can go inside. If it is temporary placard, you have to get doctor to fill out another form.
Go up there before 3:30.
Its never a good time you just have to keep trying. It stays pretty busy
$15 for replacement but if new purchase, you have to add sales tax of 4.15%
Birth certificate, Social Security card, and mail. Make sure the mail is postage stamped, not the postage paid thing, you also want some type if bill or bank statement. The DMV also has the new Real ID, that needs 2 pieces of mail, and the extra fee.
I think its $12. Go to dmv website
It's either $16 or $32
You need to go DMV with all your proper documents. ID proof of current address and former address at least 2 documents from each address. Copy of ID social security # and take something extra just in case. Your marriage certificate will do
Yes
No. Just call and notify them of your new address. You should be fine after that.
Call or show up in person on Monday and ask for a supervisor. If you have supportive documentation have that with you.
You got to the desk and just tell them you need to return plates...its easy and quick
No because all equipmemt has to be working
Yes. However; typically the insurance company handles all of that for you and will mail you a salvage title.
It is not the process as much as the wait time to get to the desk. If you make an appointment, things go more quickly. Appointments can be made online.
Yes. DMV can print birth certificates for anyone as long as they were born in Virginia and can be found in the vital records system. DMV does not have full access to vital record information. They go off of what the customer puts on the application. Meaning, if you are unsure of how to spell your mom maiden name DMV only gets three tries. After that you will have to go to vital records so the can do the research to find what you need. DMV also does death certificates, marriage certificates, and death certificates. Again, the customer must know all the required information such as birth days, maiden names, birth location, marriage date, divorce date, etc.
The DMV does not monitor this area. This area is hosted by Google volunteers who do not have access to be able to answer that question. I believe only the DMV can answer that question for you.
If you pay the fees online and there is nothing else that you need to do to reinstate your license yes, you can go in and they can issue you a new license. You will receive a paper copy of it without a photo and the hard copy will come in the mail.
I think it's your birth certificate an social security card. You know you. Can get birth certificate at dmv
Birth certificate or passport, social security card, 2 proofs of residency (1 can be parent id, other can be any piece of mail)
No. DMV is closed on all major holidays.
no
It all depends on what type of plate it is, if it is personalized or not, the weight of the vehicle, if you are renewing it late and if you are doing it online or at a DMV. The price starts out at $40.75. That is to renew a regular standard plate that is not personalized for a passenger sedan or other small lightweight vehicle on time and online or by mail. If you go into DMV to do it there is an additional $5 fee. If you are late renewing it is an extra $10. If you are driving a truck there will be a fee for the weight increase which is normally $5. If your plate is personalized there will be an extra $10 fee and finally if you have a special plate you will pay the fee for that as well. Each plate is different, if you look on the DMV's website it will tell you what the fee is for each plate.
8AM
It depends why you need it. So no, a google search will not give you an answer. If you need an SR-22 because of anything insurance related with DMV you have to have it for three full years. However; if you need it due to a judgement you will have to have the SR-22 for five full years from the date that the judgement was paid in full. There are other situations as well, it's best to either call DMV or go in and speak to someone because they will be able to give you the exact date.
Yes. Personal property tax and vehicle registration have nothing to do with one another other than the fact that if you don't pay your personal property tax you will be unable to renew your vehicles registration.
