No, you cannot walk under the waterfalls or creeks, hike through them, or swim in them. At Hocking Hills State Parks, you cannot go off trail or you can be cited. This is for safety issues including rocks falling from the waterfalls, cliff edges, and it also hurts the natural environemnt including the plants and mammals living or using the waterway.
Yes most of the waterfalls are mild and you can wade into the water and get right up under them. Not every single one but most of them. I saw lots of people doing this and no one was asked to get out.
At ash cave you walk behind the small falls . It's part of just walking the path.
When i was there people were swimming, diving into the water, going under the falls, and pretty much doing what they wanted.
No they have it posted no swimming and posted to keep you away from those areas. But they was people not following the park rules and going into those areas anyway
