Not exactly. It's a mix of forest, cliffs, and a river to put it mildly. It's rugged wilderness and pretty primitive for camping, trails, etc
Mike D nailed it. Officially, it is inside the Pisgah National Forest and is run by the national forest service. If you're interested in forests, there is plenty of that there with dense pine wooded areas everywhere. It's one of the most beautiful areas I've been!
