I have called every day for the last two weeks at 8:30 am. Still with the same message of "welcome to the unemployment call center. Due to the high volume of calls, we can not take your call at this time. If you need to speak to an agent please call on the next business day, however you can access our self help blah blah blah." Then it directs you to file/reopen. Go online to reopen and it directs you to call..... I appreciate you guys working and I am sure it's crazy but I wish the system wasnt a circle of nowhereness. Which isnt the workers fault. Also the actual building in pleasantville is closed until the 29th.
You have to call early. Most people who have this problem are calling at like 11am when call volumes are highest. You're dialing into a call center (which is not this office, btw) and there are a finite number of agents who each can take on only a finite number of cases. When they reach their daily limit, the call center stops accepting additional calls. The call center opens at 830am. Call then. Or go online. BTW, are you even in South Jersey? Your profile says you're 78 miles from Vineland! So you should be calling the Central Jersey Call Center at 732-761-2020.
You have to go to the unemployment part of the college.. and it has to be before noon because they shut off their phones at noon
Dial 856-696-6600 and select 2.
