It wasn't a congregational action or decision; some members were unhappy with him, and the situation grew tense enough that Jeff decided it was in his and Jody's best interest to resign. But many, probably most, congregants were unaware of the situation until very late in the game.
It was my impression that he was rude to staff and congregants. He wasn't good at building community, which is important for this congregation.
