I prefer neighborhood businesses such as Ace. As a military retiree and on a fixed income, l like the 10% military discount at Lowes and Home Depot. Was told Ace does not offer that!!!

Although they don't offer military discounts (as far as I have seen recently) they offer better deals than big hardware stores. For example: the option to buy individual parts of hardware that you'd have to buy in a multi-pack at HD or Lowe's.
