Hello Mr. Simpson. Thank you for your interest. Broadcast Basic is entry-level service. It includes the broadcast channels (like local ABC, NBC and CBS) as well as government access and educational access channels. Our Expanded Basic goes a step further and includes Broadcast Basic and favorite cable channels such as ESPN, HGTV, History Channel, Disney, etc. Please visit ourcontinuum.com and click on "What's On" at the top of the home page to see a breakdown of all our levels of service - Broadcast Basic, Expanded Basic, Digital, Hispanic Tier, HDTV Plus, etc. I hope this answered your question. If not, please call 704-660-3840 and one of our local customer care representatives will be happy to help.

Expanded basically means it has more variety than basic.
