We were in need of a rental car for a week while one of our vehicles was in the shop. Unfortunately we live in a rural area without good access to rentals which requires us to go to a bigger town/city. We set up to pick up a car today at the Mooresville location. The Avis website said this location was open 8-4:30 today. We set up to pick the car up at 11 today. Drove 45 minutes to Mooresville. Arrived and the location was closed. We called customer service and they were not helpful arguing that the location was showing open. But they were not open and there was a sign on the door saying they were closed for labor day. After getting transferred with no help I tried calling the Charlotte airport location to which I was sent to the same unhelpful customer service line. If you are going to be closed on a holiday make sure the company is aware so reservations are not available on that day! We drove 45 minutes down and spent half our holiday trying to run down a rental car so my fiancé can get to work this week. Thankfully the online chat system was able to get us a refund. Will not use Avis again.
