for Ashley I think it is normal. I ordered 2 bedroom sets in Sept, was supposed to deliver Oct, I'm still waiting and it's March/April. someone else I know ordered a couch and got a refund 9 months later.
I have had the exact same problem, recieving a piece here and a piece there. They have horrible communication and customer service, so you'll need to call over and over if you want an update. The update will be wrong, but at least you'll have false hope for a moment.
