Go through the main entrance. There's a booth there and you can ask attendant or follow signs on the road. If you go straight all the way to the end and park...the beach is on the left. You have to walk past the restrooms and refreshment stands to get to it. You really can't see it from the parking lot.
Go into the main state park entrance and go towards the recreation center. I think it's to the right. It takes a few minutes but you should see signs for it.
look at look up Virginia State Park and look for Smith Mountain Lake
When I set the GPS, I always choose the part that say "visitor" after that I'm the main entrance just go straight until the end, skip the road for boats
