Yes parking is free... get there early though. We stay at the camp behind the parking lot on the river. AWESOME spot. I want to add that once your in the trail and you've crossed the river 3 times you'll go up a little trail after the 3rd crossing then go left... you'll come to a camp and 2 boulders in the middle of the trail. If you make a right and go up an overgrown hill stay on that trail and it will bring you pass more waterfalls with swimming holes. More camping spots and keep on the trail youll eventually cross the river again and end up at another camp. AWESOME spot. We DID see a bobcat back there twice (same guy) within 2 hour time frame. My dog chased him the first time (scary) then after we had lunch, on the way back down the bobcat ran in front of us on the trail. SO I also want to add that if you don't go up the hill where I told you and you go straight instead that will eventually bring you to a small slide like waterfall and a swimming hole (small) but VERY COOL!
Yes, parking is free. Get there early or you may walking a long way.
