You can walk the flight 800 memorial with a wheelchair. It's a beautiful memorial.
Some of the areas in the Park complex or Boardwalk, a nice long one to the right of the ranger station. I would suggest an advance trip without the wheelchair first to scope it out
There are board walks from camping area to the beach in at least 3 location, plus the memorial states above. From there you can go further to the beach hut which has an accessible area overlooking the ocean
Yes there is a boardwalk. Like Jeanne said the flight 800 memorial is beautiful
not really
The boardwalk to the right, or the first structure you can see as you enter onto Fire Island from Smith Point Bridge, may have some patches of beach sand blown over, along with a small landing onto an area with beach sand used for educational purposes. So if your daughter can rough it through a small patch of beach sand hear and there, then a trip out to the beach would be great!!! Also, there are some boardwalk areas in the camping area to explore!
Yes
There is a boardwalk. It's not a mile long. If it's a boardwalk along the water your looking for it's not bad
@kevinflynn yes there's a walkway for a decent portion of the beach and in the summer a food bar..
Their is a small area you can bring her with the wheelchair. I would say sunken meadow state park beach. Has a longer boardwalk. Very nice to walk or jog.
If you have the four-wheel-drive pass you would also be able to drive her through the sand down the entire Beach and a truck as well
No, there is no boardwalk. However, there is a wide Plaza in front of the beach.
Small walk try to the right near ranger station.
Small boardwalk. You can get a wheelchair on there without a problem but it's not going to be a long walk.
