We had two Old Hickory Houses in Charlotte NC that were run by the Carter family originally from Georgia. Best BarBQue I have ever eaten. Could this be run by same family with same recipes?

Could be. Old hickory house has been in Atlanta for at least 40 years and by many locals is considered the best BBQ around. Great Brunswick stew, also.

Owned by the Black family. They recently closed their Dunwoody location, so there is only the Northlake Parkway location at present. I love their BBQ! Breakfast is also great.

Old Hickory House is over 50 years old in Atlanta. Worked there in early 70's. Great BBQ and fixings. Love the Brunswick stew and vegetables. The Black family owned and ran several locations in Atlanta and they were featured in the Burt Reynolds movie, Smoky and the Bandit !

Bbq is good, but sides can be iffy. Fried green tomatoes were mushy and few for the price.
