My husband is seriously ill and having a dog is no longer an option. I've tried reaching out to family/friends/coworkers but no luck. I went to IndyHuman but was told they have no room. Will you accept pets? I do want to send him to the IAC.

Do you have any friends or family in Hamilton county? There are other animal support groups in Indianapolis. Try calling local pets stores and find out which animal agencies "they" donate either money or supplies to. If you have a pure bred or you know the mix ie: lab/pitbull, call both lab and pit bull rescues and see if they have room to take them. CAUTION Always find out euthanasia policies. You could also tell these agencies about your husband and see if there are any foster homes available to help until you or they can find a forever home. Best wishes to you and your husband. Hamilton County Humane Society only accepts animals from Hamilton County. You will need to present your ID when you surrender your dog and if you don't live in Hamilton County they can't accept your dog.
