This is what is posted on their website for volunteering: FOR THOSE UNDER THE AGE OF 16 (REQUIRED) HSHC Policy states that children 12 to 15 may volunteer when accompanied by a parent or legal guardian, but cannot directly interact with the animals due to liability issues. Both the child and parent or legal guardian must fill out an application and attend an orientation. Note: We do not accept volunteers under the age of 12
