After John Lennon's murder, Yoko Ono had his body cremated at the Ferncliff Cemetery in 1980. She then brought his remains to Central Park where she scatteted them in an undisclosed location. Many believe they are in today's existing Strawberry Fields location near their apartment, although, nothing about a location was documented in order to prevent theft and vandalism. Strawberry Fields is the location used today to serve as his official gravesite. Yoko still owns and visits that apartment. The building welcomes visitors to the gate for photos, but never across their property lines. They have gate security who I've always found to be very friendly.
