We are a group of girls who are really fond of Chinese traditional cultures. So can we dressed up in our own traditional dresses and have a tour in the Chinese Scholar Graden? We've heard that it is not allowed to take photos within the garden??

You can definitely take pictures. It is a very scenic place. Please, go there and enjoy as you planned.

Pretty much what everyone said. Cell phone cameras, OK. Fancy professional cameras, even if they're for personal use require permission

You can take pictures,but I woulld't wear your traditional dress without getting permission first. Call the education department at 718-425 3512 for a tour and if you can wear your tradional dress.

I took tons of photos and it was fine. You just can't sell the photos after. The garden is beautiful - enjoy your visit! 🙂

If it is commercial photo session almost old Gardens required for permission. If not it should be okay.
