If you are traveling in the left lane of highway next to a tractor and trailer a car passes both of you going faster. What vehicle does the radar catch? How does this work? How can one ID the faster vehicle?

So what you're saying is you guys can pick and choose so there's discrimination because if I'm driving about a car you figure or he can afford it or be nice this one bunch of guys that endorse a mayor that doesn't like the cops maybe that's the reason you guys park in cvs parking lot handicap zone yes I've a picture of that thanks to PO Edwards.

The tool that officers use to catch people speeding is called a LIDAR gun and it works by aiming it at your vehicle and the radio waves comes back to the device telling it how fast your going. So basically the cop chooses which vehicle he thinks is speeding and measures their speed using the LIDAR gun. Now if your in the left lane speeding past a trailer it's only common sense that the cops would go after you and not that huge truck. Tractor trailers has to follow the rules of the road to but they are not typically pulled over for speeding violations, they get pulled over for a laundry list of other violations example, driving unsafely, equipment violations, etc... Basically just follow the speed limit and you will be fine
