It is definitely a labor of love and not a get rich quick idea. Everything was authentic and great fun to go down memory lane.
There is definitely a demand for this sort of offering. We simply loved our visit. The wife and I are the same age; grew up in the 50's. This brought back memories all weekend that we had both completely forgotten. I'm still smiling (and dreaming) many months later. Only downside to consider here would that to make this work for long pull (any if certainly is that) is that it must be totally authentic. Everything about this era must be complete with no modern conveniences to break the spell. It took the original owners of Shady Dell much imagination + many years to develop this site and I doubt whether it still could be done as well today regardless of time or expense. I had several conversations with the current owner. It quite clear that this was much more than an business venture. It's his life's work. If you have the same level of commitment and an angle to solve the acquisitions problem then I would say "Go for it!!!". If not then move on.
I love the idea.
