The observatory is open every Friday evening that is clear from 7-9 pm during standard time or 8-10 pm during Daylight savings time. There will be a graduate student a professor of astronomy and a telescope operator there to answer all your questions when you come. Also, we only are open during the school year, so not in the summer and not over the winter break. If you want to see if we are open you can see our website at http://physics.unm.edu/pandaweb/observatory/

The observatory has an open house night. I believe they try to have one at least once a month but you could check on the UNM website and see the times. An other way to check is see who the TAs are for the astronomy labs as they are the ones who usually operate the open house.
