I placed an online order and never received a shipping notification, so I called New Mexico Clay directly. After speaking with an associate, I was told that my order would be shipping in one or two days, and that I would receive an email with tracking info. After 3 more days with no tracking info, I called back. I spoke with 2 more associates after finally being directed to another associate who claimed to be the head of the shipping dept. She told me that my order had shipped, and that UPS had ‘lost’ my order. I told her that I hadn’t received an email with the tracking, so I asked for the UPS tracking number, and was placed on hold again. When she returned she claimed that the ‘computer was down’ with that information, and she’d have to call me back ‘tomorrow’. I asked her how she could know that my order was lost if the computer was down, and she promptly hung up on me! Now I’m really steamed! I called back AGAIN and finally spoke to a professional person named ‘Crash’ who was honest and told me they were experiencing shipping delays with many backed up orders, and she wasn’t sure when my order would ship. At least she was honest and gave me truthful information. Outcome? I’m still waiting on my order, with absolutely no information as to when it will ship. Bottom line: This may be a great store for in-person shopping, but if you don’t live in the area I’d suggest looking for another on-line retailer. I usually use Bailey, but they didn’t carry what I was looking for.

Awesome and friendly staff. Eager to help and share their passion of pottery with others. 😊 They have lots of proprietary clays made right in store for great prices.

I was looking for a way to create the illusion of a hummingbird and they were able to provide me with a way using a mother of pearl glaze to do it. Thank you!

No ma'am we do not, but we do have a web site and do ship....
They were hiring last time I was there (about a week ago). They also have classes you can sign up for if you're looking to learn about clay (I believe they're in between sessions right now).
Look at their website!!!
Yes it does, all black clays do. You cannot absorb manganese through your skin.
Masks are required, max number of folks allowed in the store varies, 6 foot distances are required.
We don't make finished ware, we just sell supplies.
Yes but they sell slowly, Try craigs list for $400.00
Yes, they are very reasonably priced
We are only renting full kilns at this time. See http://overglazes.com/PDF/Firing%20Prices%202020.pdf
Yes they do
Hi. I'm Lisa. I work at New Mexico clay. Yes we have many kinds of clay and they come in 25 lb bags or two bags in a box at 50 lb per box. We have everything from low fire to cone 10 stoneware and porcelain and the more you buy the more you save. We can also mix your clay recipe and we do special orders if you want your clay harder or softer. We deliver in Albuquerque for only $15 and in Santa Fe for only $65 and those prices are for up to 2500 lb on a pallet. Hope to see you. Text or call if you have any more questions and have a good night!
Yes that is available for a charge

Yes NM clay is your best bet. They have catalogs.
depending on other customers selling thier used kilns.kind of a gamble .sometimes we do sometimes we dont.but we can always get you a new one at any time you order
It's not a glaze I have had customers report as being runny. It's always a good ideas to stair step your layers of glaze up from the bottom.
Nothing you add to Super Sculpey (a polymer clay) will make it suitable for firing in a ceramics kiln, if that's what you're asking. Most polymer clay likes to be baked at about 225 degrees, not much more. As far as getting a durable piece, make sure you are baking it at the correct temperature, and bake it for a little longer. Make sure you let it cool completely afterwards before handling it. Otherwise, using an armature (supports like wire or dowels) can help support your piece. You may want to try a different brand if you still have trouble.
Very reasonable for plain ready to paint. Also have all your needed raw supplies. Very friendly staff.
They are wonderful, helpful and knowledgeable people. I agree that a trip to see them would be valuable.
No greenware, they have bisque, and can recommend local sellers of greenware.
