The walk to the beach and fishing pier is down a road about 3/4mi. directly across from the campground. We saw raccoon and owls on the way on walks at night. About 3/4 mi down the main road is access to driftwood beach, another cool place. A bike makes all of it easily accessable. Bike trails all over the island... Easy and flat.
There are multiple parks with beach access on the island, but not directly from the Campground. We typically drive to a beach access point but we have two young kids. Right across the road from the side of the Campground you can be against the marsh though.
There is a road leading to the beach across from the entrance of the campground. It's approximately 1/2 to 3/4 miles.
