I was very curious about this myself. Fortunately, I had a primary care physician (who was not aware of their poor patient care reputation and had originally referred me), who referred me somewhere else immediately. However, pain management, while a tricky business these days considering the crisis-level addiction rates that have been happening, is very much an issue that needs quick and professional attention. A pain management clinic that does not seem to either want to or care to do that job Is an issue. Not only because there are patients who require pain management for legitimate reasons, and not simply the cynical view taken by some medical professionals and laymen alike; but because this is an ethical issue: medically, as well as professionally.
