I didnt have to sign one til i decided to become a trainer..but it came with a sign on bonus of 2500..not much but better than zilch. The only complaint I may have is pay but that's everywhere as well..it IS a business..and like stated above most is what you're willing to do. I've never done NYC but have Brooklyn Staten and long islands.. They don't hassle you or ride your back if you got a good DM. Mine is amazing and totally in the know but the first 5 made me hate WSXI..but they have new trucks and a new way of doing things..been with then almost 2 he and have seen the changes myself...good luck!!
Very rarely will you go into nyc trucks are ok they are getting new ones in and slowly switching everyone as far aa company goes they arnt bad i have an awesome driver manager ive been rehired here i quit because it just wasnt working but this time around i have zero complaints and for the contract ive never heard of anyone having to sign a contract to get a job here orientation sucks regardless haha
Good company to train,no experience??
Trucks are good. Mostly new additions.
I've been in training 3 weeks and have already been in the 5 boughs 3 times. That said, you do get NYC pay for those runs. I did have to sign a 1yr contract but that is because I am a second chance hire after have a bad accident in snowy conditions at another company. Communication at WSXI sucks worse than any other company of any type I've ever been with before.
I don't have too much to say cause I see every one's comment so am I get the worst DM in the world or WSXI is treating people depending on your skin color, where you from, what is your background, which language is your primary cause I've been with them since March 2018 OTR but they used me to do NYC load as well for 0.34 per miles while NE pays .50 per miles and the home time is very very sucks my account 2 weeks over the road 2 days home every single time I need to go home always a problem like right now I have to be home on Monday, 12/10 just that day I need and I asked my DM since November,29
You have to find the company that fits you best
I agree with Scott Tucker Jr, I've been with W/E off and on for a while, there not a bad company as many would say it's what you make of it, at any time you decide to leave W/E and need to return they'll hire you back with arms wide open and try to accommodate your situation as best as possible but understand that their a business and any business is in the game for profit first and have to juggle employee needs vs company gains and losses,if you ever ran a business before you'll understand what I'm saying but overall their a good company.
Some people yes I did not and yes they do
