Can see the train...depending on what part of the outlook you are on... the train is at a distance down the mountain and across the valley Went back in 2020 and the train was no longer coming to Durango, therefore can't see it. If it returns to old route it is visible.

No not real clearly. The Animas Overlook is about 2 miles above town on the mountain so you get a good Overlook of the entire town and you can see where the train runs from the station of the valley but it would take a pretty good telephoto lens to actually be able to see the train moving. But if you get along the nature trail that runs in town parallel to the tracks you can get some really good shots that way. Overlooks going to give you more shots of the valley
I didn't see tracks anywhere close. I did hear one though.
