But you can ask for a closed captioning device that sits in your cupholder and provides text captions. You orient it so it only faces you and it's got louvers on it so it doesn't distract other patrons. It works pretty well and with most (but not all) movies. Though it's a bit hard to both read the words and watch the action on screen at the same instant.
