Where on River Street was the health department in the 1940/50's? My father Lars Switzer,MD, was the Medical director during that time. I remember visiting him there.

According to Polk's City Directory, the Manistee-Benzie County District Health Department where your father worked was located at 317-375 River Street on the second floor of the Manistee County Savings Bank building. Looks like it was on the second floor in rooms 205-209 through the early 1950s.

Call the museum. I bet they have the answer. One of the curator's was saying something about that
