Having made the climb recently myself and just looking at the steps in the picture that's posted, I'd say it's closer to 100 steps!
Steps on the mound: enough for the trip down be way easier than the trip up LOL..... I was just there yesterday with my children, but didn't count the steps. We definitely need to next time now. Anyways, I second the 60 guesstimate and will provide an update soon if still needed.
Steps are to the top of the mound but you can access the park area easily...no steps. I do not recall the number of steps to the top of the mound but at least 60.
