An industrialist by the name of Martin Baum was the original owner. Then famous Cincinnatian Nicholas Longworth purchased the home.
After Longworths residency, David Sinton, father of the co-founder Anna Sinton-Taft. She lived there with her husband Charles Phelps Taft. In 1908 Charles half brother William Howard Taft accepted the nomination for US President underneath the houses portico.
