For the most part the staff here are excellent, but sometimes they seem overwhelmed and overworked. Why are they sending staff (edited) home like a retail operation based on "census"? That seems like a bad idea in a hospital setting.

My apologies to you that I didn't read your post carefully enough. I thought you were talking about why they send patients home. Why does this hospital send staff home? Again, I will take a guess: It's to save the hospital money somehow. There's just no way for lay people to really know.
