20 minutes to an hour depending on your urgency
Unlike Denise, I've had little difficulty making appts; the only thing to keep in mind is that some specialists have long wait times for appts. I've gotten in to see new specialists or for testing in as little as a day (for emergency visits) and as much as a few months. Follow-up appts tend to be shorter wait times. Having my primary care doc there is very helpful, as is having so many specialists affiliated with UC Health. They are able to send in referral requests via their network right there while you're in the office and that dept will call to schedule an appt. Frequently I've received these calls before I make it back to the parking garage, and even have received them before I've left the hospital! As far as communicating with my doctors, I have the UC Health app installed on my phone and am able to email any of my doctors directly, (although frequently responses come from office assistants). Test results and notes can also be viewed the moment they're complete.
The doctors are nearly impossible to get messages to, or to schedule outpatient appointments with, but I wonder if that might have just as much to do with the support staff organization, as it does the doctor's actual availability. I am hoping the patient portal might be a quicker and more direct means of communicating with my doctor and by which to get a follow-up appointment with my doctor.
Application for what?
