Yes! My doctor discussed it with me but since I had never done contacts like that he didn't want to do surgery that way.

This type of vision correction is known as monovision. One eye, usually the dominant eye, is corrected for distance viewing, and the other eye is corrected for near vision. This is common and you can simulate monovision with contacts to try it out.
