It's a gas chamber facility. I wouldn't even call it a shelter. They kill them in a gas chamber and your tax dollars finance the whole operation.
They will test the dog for it's temperament, and if it passes (not aggressive) then it will be put up for adoption. It will stay up for adoption indefinitely until it is adopted or rescued--they don't euthanize adoptable animals just for being at the shelter too long. If they are running out of space or an animal has been there awhile then they contact rescues to take the animals so they can be placed in foster homes
Yes they would at some point. They wouldn't be able to hold on to him forever. Your best bet is to find someone online through Facebook yard sale pages or take him to a "no kill" shelter.
