Okay so I'm in 7th and my friend is in 5th, could we volunteer with my friend's 18+ mom? Also, are young volunteers helpful or just a bother?

Hi! Its great that you want to help animals! We do have an age limit of 18 or over here at the Shelter for our volunteers. The reason is that is that we also have Inmates from the Utah County Jail that also help us here. If your Mom was with you, you could still take a dog for a walk (she would have to hold the leash) or you could brush a dog or cat that needed a good grooming. They love to have some attention and a few dog treats! You can teach a dog to sit at the front of his kennel. This helps when potential adopters are walking through looking at the dogs. We hope you make a trip in to see the animals!

I think you can, as long as your friend's mom is willing to sign a waiver. Your mom might have to as well. And they always want volunteers, no matter the age. 😁
