Haha. You haven't been to many gyms before this one, have you? I am not saying it's near new but the value comes from the weight you move not the one that looks the prettiest.
The equipment is fine. As far as I know free weights haven't changed in 50 years. Maybe you need a gym with a juice bar:)
I've been working out for over 40 years Go to the LA Fitness and king of Prussia or in Fort Washington where I usually go And there is absolutely No comparison. This place is a complete dive maybe you should try some different Fitness facilities
I have been to many la fitnesses and can tell you that the free weight area here is excellent. 3 squat racks, widest range of dumbells and lots of weight plates. All this in a huge gym layout that even in peak hours secures a good workout. It may not be the newest location but -hey buddy- it's arguably one of the best. Best of luck finding a good gym.
also LA fitness new branches are doing away with hot tubs near swimming pools. This one LA fitness branch in collegeville is one of the few ones that has a good swimming+hot tub+sauna area... and its a BIG gym ! not like the one in KOP where you sometimes have to wait in line to get a machine.
