I think it depends on how busy it is and how many things you want to do while there. If you go just to ride the free ride and do a little shopping, probably only an hour or two. If you are going to do the other things there too, it might take all day.

We were there about 5hrs.
With no really long lines, I would estimate a half day. The estimate of 6-8 hours is probably a bit long.

U get 3 hours of free parking. Depends on what all you want to do. The tour ride doesn't take long but then it depends on the looking around. Plus you can take a trolley ride thru the town of Hershey for a fee.
