This is old, but for siutation s like this please see a vet. Out of all the vets in town, LEC is the most affordable. Do it at home is okay sometimes, but the cost of curing an infection is way more than the cost of getting the nail seen to, antibiotics or at least a regimine to keep the would clean and maybe a bit of pain med for your baby.... btw they sell styptic powder in most pharmacies. or stores in the shaving isle. Moreover the home remedy is to use cornstarch, certainly not flour.
Cut it yourself. Stop bleeding but covering with flour. Mine will limp about 12-24 hr. due to soreness. Like our paper cuts. Good luck.🐶🐴
