Call. Ask if they are hiring. Call professional, non relatives and ask if they'll be a reference for you. Go fill out an application, dress well, be polite, make eye contact. Wait a week and if you hear nothing back, call to follow-up explaining your highly interested in the job. If that doesn't work, buy the place fire whoever has the job you want and take their place with absolute impunity.
