It's true that David Crockett and James Bowie fought the Mexicans, but at the Battle of Alamo, Bowie was very ill in bed. In fact, Bowie was killed in his sickbed. David Crockett fought in the Alamo, but was also killed. The only survivors of Alamo were women, children and a Travis slave named Joe.
