Yes we always bring a cooler of food and drinks. Weekdays are less busy.
Weekdays is reasonably quiet and peaceful. Weekend, it will be quite busy but going early around 10AM. Food is allowed and there is a covered area for sitting and eating right next to the beach

Food is allowed, we went on Father's day and brought a cooler. Earlier in the day is quieter but it never got too overwhelmingly busy.
